Muscles In Motion

Muscles In Motion is a clinic in Yorkville, Il. that specializes in chiropractic, physical therapy, personal training and sports performance. Jeffrey C. Schutt D.C. and his wife Lori Schutt R.K.T. in an effort to provide a wholistic approach to health care founded Muscles In Motion. They believe that just treating symptoms is not solving the problem, but simply masking it. Dr. Schutt believes that you can not separate the mental, physical and spiritual components of the body. As a Christian Dr. Schutt believes that no one health care profession has all the answers, but by cooperating with each other a multi-discipline approach best serves the patient. Currently the staff consists of a chiropractor Dr. Jeff Schutt, physical therapist Kellie Knox, kinesiotherapists Shane Amwoza, Suzanne Creedon, and Lori Schutt. Future plans are to add other professionals such as a neurologist, orthopedist, internist, podiatrist and nutritionist. Dr. Schutt is looking for professionals that are interested in fitness and would like to work in an environment of cooperation to better serve the patients’ needs.

An example of the wholistic approach to treatment currently utilized at Muscles In Motion is the coordination of care between the chiropractor and the physical therapist and kinesiotherapists. The old knock against chiropractic is that once you go you will always have to go back and back for the rest of your life, or that adjustments are painful. This is where the therapists help in the care of the patient. It is the muscles of the body that move the bones of the body. If the muscles are not strong or have an imbalanced pull on the skeleton, then that bone will not stay in its correct position. By having the therapist use their expertise in relaxing, balancing and strengthening the muscles, the chiropractic adjustment is more effective and not painful.

Sports performance classes held at Muscles In Motion consist of techniques that help athletes improve their vertical jump, running speed, hand - eye coordination, balance, stability, injury prevention exercises, and falling techniques.
