Instructions For Use of Speed Trainers

PRE-USE PREPARATIONS Place a protective cap on both ends of each weight bar. This helps prevent possible injury and also protects the Speed Trainers neoprene weight pockets from wear and tear (Fig. 1). Check out your Speed Trainers for proper fit, and adjust as needed. A poor fit could cause injury or result in a less efficient workout. Weight Bars: You may wish to "work up" to the heaviest weight configuration or at times alter the total weight you're using. Follow these tips for best results: 1. Be certain the protective caps are in place on each end of each weight bar. 2. The bars are held in place by sewn-in pockets on the front of each thigh wrap. 3. Insert a weight bar into a pocket (Fig. 2). Reach behind the bar (Fig. 3) and pull the top cover up and over the bar to secure it in the pocket. Repeat for each bar used. 4. To adjust, there are several configurations possible: To use two weights (one per thigh), always position the weight in center pocket to assure proper balance and leverage. To use four weights (two per thigh), position weights in both outer pockets leaving center pockets empty. For six weights, all pockets are used. Waist band: Strap the belt above the hip bones keeping the buckle in front (Fig. 4). Adjust the Velcro band in the back for a tight fit. Reapply pressure to hold the Velcro band in place. Thigh wraps: The thigh wrap should be positioned about four inches above the knee with the middle weight centered above the kneecap (Fig. 4). Adjust the height of the thigh wrap by using the slide through buckle (Fig. 5). The side straps should be placed directly on the outside of each thigh. Do this for both sides. Care and Maintenance Use a carrying bag to store and transport weights. Prior to washing, remove weight bars. Hand wash neoprene wraps using a mild detergent and warm water. Squeeze excess water out before hanging to dry. Do not place in washer. Do not heat or tumble dry. |
