Core Strength
The leg lowering test is a simple test to perform to determine if you are ready to begin training using the Speed Trainer.
The average athlete should have sufficient strength in the core muscles to perform the leg lowering test correctly.

Figure 1 - Lay on your back with both legs in the air. Press your lower back into the floor by performing a posterior pelvic tilt (rolling the hips back).

Figure 2 - Keep your lower back touching the floor and slowly lower both legs down to the floor. Do not allow the lower back to arch and leave the floor as in figure 3. If you can perform this test correctly, you may begin with the following program. If your lower back does arch, then perform the core strengthening exercises which follow.
