(In memory to Leigh Kolka's passing in a plane crash in 1999)
Leigh Kolka, the inventor of the Speed Trainer was raised in Plano, Illinois. In high school, Leigh was all conference in football and basketball and had also obtained his private pilots license by his junior year. Leigh accepted a full ride football scholarship from Middle Tennessee State University and led the Blue Raiders in interceptions two years in a row as a free safety.
During his college era, Leigh obtained his commercial pilots license, received a degree in aerospace physics, and began his research in the physics involving human running speed. After college, Leigh received a patent on a new running/exercise device, patent # 4180261. Leigh has decided to take the Speed Trainer to the local level. What once was used by an elite few professional athletes is now available to the general public.
